It has been 15 years since we opened our doors! Can you believe it?!  At that time we were one of the few store front yoga centers in the West Michigan area. It was like a signal fire! So many curious and dedicated students have passed through these doors and some have emerged as great teachers themselves. Many have gone on to open their own spaces and share these practices in West Michigan and beyond! Such a small room had such a large impact on the Yoga Scene in Michigan. It has been quite the ride that we all have gone on together!

One of our favorite memories was when we first hosted Desiree Rumbaugh in March of 2000. The studio construction was not finished so we had the workshop at the Dominican Center at Marywood. Really, it was like our soft opening. The workshop was scintillating with joy and you could tell it was the start of something great!

That first event soon evolved into hosting many more teachers, scholars, healers, musicians and artists at our center. Each time they come, our community expands. Their offerings are a true gift to everyone at From the Heart. We love and thank them all!

Since the beginning, our focus has always been on cultivating a deeper connection to Community through these beautiful practices. Self Knowledge and Creative Expression are the in-breath and out-breath of this focus. The more expression we celebrate in each other, the more our collective heart beats. Deep gratitude for your curiosity, studentship, and dedication over the years!

Many Blessings,

Rick & Behnje
